Playing around with some my photos from one of my favorite Texas Frightmare Weekends. Enjoy.

Robert Englund Loves Surfing.
While on the Texas Frightmare Weekend red carpet, Robert Englund talks about surfing with Mallory Carrick and others.

Here are a few more pics of Robert from that red carpet event.

“You want me to do what?”
Malcolm McDowell is not really big on photographer Vanessa Lua’s request to make a “scary” face on the red carpet at Texas Frightmare Weekend.

Pinhead and Freddy Kruger walk in to a bar…
Actually, they walked on the red carpet at Texas Frightmare Weekend.
I love this photo. Just two icons of horror shooting the sh*t. They were are both so cool. Doug Bradley was returning for his third (?) time to Texas Frightmare. With Clive Barker and Ashley Laurence also in attendance, it make for a Hellraiser fan’s perfect storm of awesomeness. Is that word?
Robert Englund was great during his Q&A. That man remembers everything. Also, he can tell a entertaining story too. I sure a lot of the guest at his table was surprised by the recall he had about the items they were asking him to sign. “Oh I remember when we… and then… Of course, Wes….” I saw him sometimes talk on for minutes several times over the weekend. Good thing they were handing out tickets for his booth. That helped limit the number of people he would see in a day and give him more time to socialize with each guest.

Zombie Walk: The Video
I finally had a chance to complete my little video montage from the 4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend ZombieWalk. I combined some time-lapse with some video of little happenings at the pre-walk.
One of the things holding me up was that the video was missing something. Luckily that something landing in my inbox a few days ago. One of the members of Rigor Mortis, you know that rockin’ heavy metal band that basically started Texas metal 25 years ago, sent me a couple of tracks from their last recording session. Best of all, one of the tracks was called The Infected and the beat was just perfect for the time-lapse. So, I emailed for permission and was able to wrap this up. Enjoy.
Note to self: Next year, get a little closer the them doing makeup. Too many people getting in the way of the action.

Dieter Laser is a hugger.
One of the most talked about films in horror recently is The Human Centipede (First Sequence). At this year’s Texas Frightmare Weekend, the director, Tom Six, and the star, Dieter Laser, not only attended, but did a live commentary to the film at a midnight screening. Personally, I didn’t have much interest in seeing the film, as I found even the trailer disturbing, but this did peak my interest. With Host, Mark Walters of BigFanBoy.com, the two gave a very entertaining commentary on the film. I do hope someone recorded it. To be honest, I didn’t make it through the entire film as exhaustion had started to catch up with me and I bailed at about 1:30am. I hope everyone else had as good time as Tom Six and Dieter Laser appeared to be having.
On closing day of the con, after most everyone had left, Tom Six and Dieter Laser continued to sign autographs for almost an hour. On his way out, Dieter Laser proceeded to give everyone hugs, including yours truly. Awesome.
Would you want a hug from this man?

4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend ZombieWalk, Part II
It’s hard to believe a week has gone by since Texas Frightmare Weekend. What a great time! I still have some stories I want to share, but I’ve been so busy with my day job, I haven’t had time to write them down.
At least, I’m getting some pictures done. I had a chance tonight to upload another 80 or so photos from the 4th Annual Zombie Walk. These are the last of the better ones from the walk. When shooting the Zombie Walk, I try to capture everyone, as they all work so hard on getting to look dead.
Now some do better than others, and for those needing a little more assistance, Moxley Manor was there to help with bringing out the dead.
You can view the full 100+ photos from the 2011 Zombie Walk on Flickr.

Sweatshop is coming DVD in the UK?
I saw today that the horror film Sweatshop is coming DVD in the UK on May 9th. That’s a shame, since it still has yet to get a US DVD release date. If you don’t remember, Sweatshop is the film about some kids breaking into an abandoned factory to have a rave. Only thing is, someone is already using the place… The Beast. Blood and gore ensue.
This film was showcased last year at Texas Frightmare Weekend. And as you may remember, one guy was so shaken by the film, he cracked his head open while trying to get out of the theater. With that kind of reaction, you know you want to see it. Let’s hope it finally makes it’s way to DVD here in the US soon.
UPDATE: I just received a message on FB that Sweatshop is “still waiting on the official okay from our distributor to announce! Hopefully soon!”
UPDATE 2: Sweatshop finally gets a release date for DVD in the US. The title will be available on September 13, 2011. You can pre-order now. Now, how about getting it on Blu-ray?
Now, this is a Freddy reboot that I would see!
Still going through all my photos from Texas Frightmare Weekend. Over the course of 72 hours, I shot over 1000 photos at all the red carpets, Q&A’s, and just walking around the vendor hall. That doesn’t even include the 600+ photos taken for a time-lapse of the Zombie Walk.
I did want to get this photo posted sooner than later. I was lucky enough to meet April (above, dressed as Freddy Krueger) and her boyfriend Ryan on Friday. They were the first in line, of the non-VIP ticket holders, waiting to get in to TFW. She was nice enough to pose for me and then find me on Sunday to say she went to my site and hadn’t seen any of the photos yet. Boy, did I feel like a slacker. Well, it’s here now… and on Facebook… and on Flickr.
If I took your photo, don’t worry, I’ll be posting those soon.

4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend ZombieWalk
This morning was the 4th Annual Texas Frightmare Weekend ZombieWalk. WOW! What a turn out. Moxley Manor did their usual good work on getting most everyone made up. I don’t know why people show up 15 minutes before a zombie walk begins and expect someone else to do their makeup effects… Only blood for you. Here are a few pics from the zombie walk. More are coming soon.
You can see the full set on Flickr or if you’re into tagging yourself, they are also on Facebook.
