Texas Frightmare Weekend 2012: A Slideshow

Had a great time at Texas Frightmare Weekend, as usual. I had some reservations about the new venue, but it worked out fine. As to the hotel, I might pass on that part next year and stay somewhere else, but that’s a story for another time.

Texas Frightmare Weekend: Norman Reedus

This guy is on fire. People love him on the Walking Dead and, of course, in Boondock Saints. And to top it off, he is a really nice guy. Had the pleasure to talk to he a few times durning Texas Frightmare Weekend. He was even willing to let me take a candid photo of him while we were hanging out by the elevators after the VIP party, but I got shot down by his handler.

Ian & Parrish Randall Ian with the one-and-only Parrish Randall. If you make a horror film in Texas, the Texas Film Commission reqires that he is in it. Not really, but it does seem like it. If you haven’t meet Parrish, he is a great guy and if this whole acting thing had never worked out, he would be an excellent film historian.

Texas Frightmare Weekend: HUFF Screening Q&A

HUFF is a spin on the tale of the “Three Little Pigs” about a family after a woman steals her abusive boyfriend’s drug money for her three teenage daughters to seek better lives for themselves and a bloody pursuit ensues. After the screening there was a Q&A with director Paul Morrell and his cast.

Texas Frightmare Weekend: Jacob Screening Q&A

JACOB tells the story of a lonely and disturbed Jacob Kell who loved his little sister more than anything on earth. When the young girl is tragically murdered by her drunken step-father, Jacob retaliates the only way he knows how…and anyone who crosses his path will know there is no limit to his brutal vengeance. Followed the screening was a Q&A with director Larry Wade Carrell and his cast and crew. The panel was moderated by CNN Film Critic Nick Nicholson.

The Texas Frightmare Weekend Prom: A Slideshow

The gang at TFW did an outstanding job with the prom. Even though there was no Zombie Walk this year, the prom totally made up for it. Not only could you get your Prom photo with PJ Soles, Nancy Allen, or Anthony Michael Hall, but several celebs also came to hang out including Charlie O’Connell, Keith David, and Clint Howard.

This weekend is Texas Frightmare Weekend, a con for horror fans in Texas. You know they have to do everything larger in Texas, and this is no exception. Here are a few pics from last year’s show.
